You know what it’s like when your Pomeranian is begging for some table scraps. It can be one of the most irresistible things to give them a little piece of whatever you’re cooking, eating, or simply holding! With their cuteness and charm, it’s no surprise that they can get human food with a gaze of their eyes and a smile on their face.
Unfortunately, most human food is unhealthy for Pomeranians simply because it wasn’t made for them. Pomeranians, and dogs alike, actually have several restrictions when it comes to eating human food, so being aware of the worst human food for Pomeranians is important to know. However, there is some healthy human food for Pomeranians.
Now, if your Pomeranian isn’t on a diet and you want to occasionally reward them without spoiling them, then you definitely want to stick with giving your Pomeranian either dog treats or healthy human food. Of course, there’s no substitute for healthy, high-quality dog food for Pomeranians.
So what is the most healthy human food for Pomeranians?
Eggs

Some of the healthiest human food you can feed your Pomeranian are eggs. Not only are they packed with protein, but they can help your Pomeranian get over any upset stomach they might have. However, you want to make sure that the eggs are fully cooked.
If they’re not fully cooked, your Pomeranian is at risk of obtaining a biotin deficiency, which can be fatal if not detected early. I always hard boil the eggs I feed them so they get the most nutritional value possible!
Apple Slices

Whenever I cut up some apples as healthy snacks for my family, I always make sure I make a little extra for our Pomeranian family members. Apple slices are fantastic human food to feed your Pomeranian because they’re packed full of vitamins A and C, fiber, and glucose.
On top of that, they act as a cleaning agent for your Pomeranian’s teeth by helping to remove the residue off of their teeth. This can keep your Pomeranian’s teeth clean and their breath smelling great!
Salmon

It’s become more and more common to find Salmon oil drops specifically made for dogs because it provides them with an excellent source of essential fatty acids and omega-3s. If you’re making salmon, feel free to give some to your Pomeranian as it’s also an excellent source of lean protein.
Not only is Salmon a great nutritional source for your Pomeranian, but it also helps keep your Pomeranian’s coat healthy and shiny while also supporting their immune system. Salmon for the win!
Fish

Speaking of salmon, fish, in general, is also a very healthy human food to feed your Pomeranian due to containing lots of valuable fats and amino acids. As a matter of fact, sardines are one of the best sources of vitamins, protein, and calcium your Pomeranian can get while also being extremely easy to eat since the bones are soft and easily digestible.
If the fish you feed your Pomeranians have bones inside them, you’ll definitely want to remove those. Also, be sure the fish you feed them is fully cooked.
Shrimp

One of the most popular kinds of food in my household has got to be shrimp! Not one person in my family is against me cooking it, including our Pomeranians. Well, shrimp is a healthy human food for Pomeranians for several reasons.
Shrimp are high in antioxidants, they contain a good amount of vitamin B-12, and the healthy dosage of phosphorous. The only important not to make is to remove all the shells from the shrimp, including the tail, head, and legs since your Pomeranian can choke on them.
Popcorn

Has it ever happened that you and your family are watching a movie, eating some popcorn, and your Pomeranian comes along begging for some popcorn? As surprising as it may seem, giving your Pomeranian popcorn is a safe human food in moderation, as long as the popcorn is unsalted, unbuttered, and air popped.
The great part about popcorn is that it contains riboflavin and thiamine, which help to improve your Pomeranian’s eyesight and digestive system. However, make sure the kernels are fully popped since they can be a choking hazard.
Peanut Butter

Now, who hasn’t given their Pomeranian a little peanut butter knowing full well that not only are they going to love it but also start licking constantly? Well, the great news is that peanut butter is healthy human food your Pomeranian can eat as long as it doesn’t contain the sugar substitute Xylitol.
Raw and unsalted peanut butter is usually safe in this regard. Peanut butter is a great source of protein, healthy fats, niacin, and vitamins B and E, so spoil away!
Cheese

It’s true that some dogs are lactose-intolerant, so it’s important that you know this before giving your Pomeranian any cheese. That’s why you should speak to your local veterinarian first.
However, if your Pomeranian is free to eat lactose, cheese can be an amazing snack for Pomeranians in moderation! The amount of protein and fat it contains is great for Pomeranians as long as they don’t consume too much. On top of that, they absolutely love it!
Yogurt

Similar to cheese, if you aren’t sure whether or not your Pomeranian is lactose-intolerant, then you should speak to your local veterinarian immediately. Now, if you’re sure they can handle lactose, then giving them yogurt is a fantastic human food to give them.
As you may know, yogurt contains natural active bacteria that helps improve the digestive system of people due to the probiotics. Well, this has the same effect on Pomeranians! Your only other caution is to make sure there are no added sugars.
Pumpkin

It’s not often that we have pumpkins in the house, but every single Halloween and Thanksgiving it seems like the house is full of them! When it comes to healthy human food for Pomeranians, pumpkins are definitely a safe snack for your cuddly little creatures.
Pumpkins are an excellent source of fiber and contain a good amount of beta-carotene and vitamin A that your Pomeranian needs. These are all reasons for a better digestive system for your Pomeranian.
Oatmeal

I’d say almost every morning one or more members of my family eats oatmeal, and we’ve always been curious whether our Pomeranians can eat any of it. Well, it turns out that they can! It just so happens that oatmeal is a great source of fiber for Pomeranians as long as there are no additives or extra sugars included in it.
Also, it should always be cooked, so no raw oats. As a matter of fact, it’s a fantastic substitute for Pomeranians who are allergic to wheat, which is not uncommon.
Cooked Lean Meats

It’s almost always the case that my family and I eat some amount of meat during the day, and our Pomeranians definitely know that! Probably the absolute best source of protein for your Pomeranian is by eating cooked lean meats, including beef, chicken, turkey, and pork.
The only things you need to be sure about is that they’re fully cooked, contain nearly zero fat, have no seasonings (especially garlic), and are boneless. If you can ensure all of that, then cooked lean meats are excellent human food for your Pomeranian.
Seedless Fresh Fruits

I’ve seen several Pomeranians shoo away fresh fruits, but some Pomeranians absolutely love them! Similar to apples, seedless fresh fruits can be a great source of fiber, vitamins, and glucose your Pomeranian definitely craves.
The only thing you want to makes sure is that all the seeds are out because they can easily choke on them. However, you definitely want to avoid peaches, cherries, persimmons, plums, grapes, and similar pitted fruits since the pits contain cyanide, which, if your Pomeranian eats it, can be fatal.
Brussel Sprouts

While not the most popular vegetable in my house, Brussel sprouts do find their way in the kitchen and my Pomeranians definitely enjoy eating them. As a healthy human food for Pomeranian, Brussel sprouts contain a good amount of fiber and antioxidants, which are effective at reducing inflammation and improving blood circulation.
However, you want to give Brussel sprouts to your Pomeranian in moderation since, like broccoli, they can produce flatulence.
Peanuts

Well, if Pomeranians can eat peanut butter, then it should come as no surprise that they can also eat plain old peanuts. While Pomeranians, and dogs alike, are restricted from eating walnuts, macadamia nuts, and pecans, peanuts are 100% fine.
Peanuts are packed with healthy fats and protein galore, which means it can be a very healthy food source as long as they’re eaten in moderation. One thing to avoid, however, is salted peanuts since salt is a big no-no for Pomeranians.
Cucumber

A simple, but healthy, snack that my family and I like to partake in around the house are cucumber slices. I don’t know about your Pomeranians, but ours absolutely love eating them! The great part about cucumbers is that they’re mostly made out of water while containing a decent amount of phytochemicals
These factors make cucumbers extremely effective at killing bacteria in your Pomeranian’s mouth. And fewer bacteria in the mouth means fresher breath. That definitely makes cucumbers a great human food to feed your Pomeranian.
Broccoli

Giving your Pomeranian broccoli as a snack is a great alternative to unhealthy human food. While you don’t want to overfeed your Pomeranian with too much broccoli, since it produces flatulence, it contains an excellent source of vitamins.
Fantastic benefits include vitamin K and C, which can help improve your Pomeranians bone health and antioxidant levels, respectively. On top of that, it’s also an excellent source of folic acid, fiber, and potassium, so it’s definitely considered one of the better human foods for Pomeranians.
Cauliflower

Not unlike broccoli, cauliflower is great human food for Pomeranians due to it being packed with a bunch of vitamins and other nutritious elements. Along with the vitamins and nutrients present in broccoli, cauliflower also contains a rich amount of choline.
All of this encourages brain development and the production of neurotransmitters. These are essential for a strong and healthy nervous system, proving that cauliflower is a fantastic human food for Pomeranians.
Carrots

My family and I love snacking on carrots whenever we get a fresh batch from our local farmers market. With a simple wash and feel, you have a great snack for the entire family, including our Pomeranians!
Carrots are a great source of fiber and vitamin A, so your Pomeranian’s digestive system and eyes are in good hands. I like to give my Pomeranians baby carrots so they don’t have a tough time trying to eat the bigger carrots. Also, carrots are a great way to keep your Pomeranian’s teeth spick-and-span!
Green Beans

Every so often, I like to cook green beans as a healthy snack for not only my family but my Pomeranians. The reason for this is that they can easily eat them, they’re extremely low in calories, and they can be mighty filling.
Sometimes I’ll even mash them up and mix them into their dog food to make sure they’re nice and full without giving them too much dog food. One thing to keep in mind is to make sure the green beans aren’t cooked or boiled with salt since Pomeranians aren’t allowed to consume salt.
Zucchini

One of the best human foods you can feed your Pomeranian has got to be zucchini. Along with other types of squash, zucchini is packed full of strong health-promoting vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which makes it an excellent snack for any occasion.
Similar to cucumber, it also contains a very low amount of calories, so it’s safe to give your Pomeranian a little more than you’d normally give them of other snacks. On top of that, it’s low in fat and cholesterol.
Cooked White Rice

A lot of meals around my house contain rice, and that’s when the question “can we feed our Pomeranians cooked white rice?” came about. The answer is yes! As a matter of fact, it’s a great way to help ease your Pomeranian’s stomach if it’s become upset for some reason.
Whenever I know my Pomeranians have an upset stomach, I always make them some white rice with cooked chicken. They eat it up so fast it’s like it never existed in the first place!
Cooked Pasta

Another great way to help your Pomeranian get over an upset stomach is to feed them cooked pasta with a little meat (especially chicken) in it. Similar to white rice, it settles very well in their tummy and helps absorb and harmful agents stuck inside of them.
Any kind of pasta is safe for them to consume as long as you don’t add any salt or sauces to it like you would do when cooking for yourself or your family.
Honey

Some of you may know this already, but honey is an excellent nutritional source for humans and animals alike. Well, that’s no different when it comes to Pomeranians, which is why it’s one of the healthiest human foods to feed your Pomeranian.
There are so many positive ingredients in honey, including vitamins A, B, C, D, E, and K, copper, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and antioxidants. Honey can also be used to prevent certain pollen allergies, so adding a little here and there to your Pomeranian’s food is a great idea.
Quinoa

It’s not too often that I cook quinoa in my house, but once I learned that it’s a healthy human food for Pomeranians I’ve started to cook it more often. As a matter of fact, it’s actually gluten-free, so in case your Pomeranian is allergic to wheat, you’re in the clear.
Quinoa also often used in dry dog foods as a substitute for wheat, corn, and soy since these are the cause of common food allergies among dogs. Not only that, but it’s packed full of protein and contains all nine amino acids!
